THE COMPANY

About Twiliner

Twiliner AG, founded in Zurich in 2021, is building Europe’s first premium overnight travel network. Its double-decker coaches feature patented lie-flat sleeping seats, allowing passengers to turn travel time into rest. Each bus carries 21 passengers with business-class comfort at economy-level prices, while producing 86–91% less CO₂ than flying. Led by CEO Luca Bortolani, Twiliner follows an asset-light model: partners operate the buses, while Twiliner provides the seating technology, brand, and booking platform. Two routes are currently live — Zurich–Amsterdam and Zurich–Barcelona — with further destinations planned.
THE CHALLENGE

What they wanted to achieve

01 A solution for the many, not the few Twiliner wanted to belong to many people. Aktionariat made that possible without the burden of managing a large shareholder base directly, and without the downsides of a cooperative structure.
02 Invest on your own timeline Aktionariat lets interested investors join whenever they want, with no need to wait for a round to close or for a lead investor. This kept Twiliner independent from large investors and from the administrative overhead of a traditional equity round.
THE SOLUTION

How they did it

01 Direct Investment
Twiliner tokenized its shares via Aktionariat and launched Direct Investment on its website. With the infrastructure in place, the company launched a crowdinvesting campaign with Oomnium. Aktionariat tokenized the shares and distributed them directly to the new investors’ wallets.
02 Issuer Portal
Twiliner uses the Issuer Portal as the central hub for its digital share registers. The company manages all shareholders from both Direct Investment and crowdinvesting in one unified registry. In 2026, Twiliner used the General Assembly tool that is seamlessly integrated within the portal.
03 Portfolio App
Shareholders view their holdings and can transfer shares through the Aktionariat Portfolio App, with self-custody of their tokenized equity.
THE RESULTS

What changed

Since tokenizing with Aktionariat in 2020, Twiliner has grown to over 180 shareholders — investors who are also passengers and brand ambassadors for the company's mission. The company raised roughly CHF 250,000 directly via Direct Investment, then a further CHF 1.7 million through crowdinvesting with Oomnium — entirely from its community. This year, Twiliner also ran its first General Assembly on Aktionariat's infrastructure, seamlessly.
“Aktionariat allowed us to seamlessly and efficiently onboard business angels and investors without the usual administrative headache and cost. Using Aktionariat for our crowdinvestment round was a strategic milestone. The platform makes managing our cap table incredibly simple and legally sound — we’re very happy with the solution.”
