Revario was founded in 2020 by Michael Ingram, a passionate trail runner, in the Vaud Alps — a local, sustainable alternative to the traditional textile industry. Its first collection, produced in the Caritas Geneva reintegration workshops, launched via a crowdfunding campaign that broke the SIG Impact platform’s record. To meet rising demand, Revario opened its own workshop in Marly in 2021, where a team of eight has since produced over 30,000 garments.
THE CHALLENGE
What they wanted to achieve
01Activate the Existing CommunityLeverage the existing community of nearly 5,000 users to drive participation and engagement in the investment campaign.
02Simplify Access to Share OwnershipCreate a simple, accessible, and user-friendly way for consumers to purchase shares.
THE SOLUTION
How they did it
01Tokenization & Legal Setup
Originally established as a GmbH, the business transitioned to an AG in 2024 to enable a more scalable and investor-friendly structure. Instead of tokenizing equity directly, the company introduced a new asset class through specially designed participation certificates.
02Community Activation
A few weeks before launch, Revario engaged its existing community via email, explaining why it was raising capital, what the funds would enable, and the role of shareholders. The company invited them to register for exclusive early access and benefit from a discounted share price before the public launch. It also ran social media ads, but email marketing to the existing community was by far the most effective channel.
03Direct Investment
Direct Investment is embedded on revario.ch. The process was quick and straightforward for Revario and its investors. The Direct Investment widget made investing easy, with funds transferred directly to the company’s account. The team encountered very few issues, and Aktionariat’s support was fast and helpful. Revario also clearly explained the investment process before launch, helping make the experience smooth for everyone.
THE RESULTS
What changed
Having more than 300 shareholders has allowed Revario to involve its community much more deeply in its journey. They are no longer only customers or supporters, but also stakeholders in the company. This has encouraged Revario to communicate more openly, share important company developments with them, and involve them in selected decisions.
“If you have built a strong community around your brand, tokenized equity can be a highly effective way to raise capital. More importantly, it allows the people who believe in your company to officially become part of its journey as shareholders.”
